We had to set up a home inspection with DHR before the children could arrive. The caseworker came out and we talked to her for about an hour, she looked at our home and we gave her information on sleeping arrangements etc. She wanted us to pick up the children immediately, but due to our work schedules, we could not pick them up until after work that day. She arranged with Tammy Clark and Marty Clark (father) for this to take place.
When I got off of work I went out and picked up Emily and Devin, it was a very emotional time for Emily, she did not want to leave, but was ok coming with me because I was family. Devin said his goodbyes with no tears, it seemed as if he was happy that he was leaving. Devin has stayed with us many times since he was born, he has always been happy being at our home.
Emily however cried most of the night because she missed her boyfriend and home. We brought them to our home, made dinner and set up Shelbie's room for her to share with Emily. We set up Zachary's room for him to share with Devin. We took a walk that evening and discussed rules for our home.
